co•LAB with Ja'Moon Jones + Colton Wall

  • City Dance Studios 60 Brady Street San Francisco, CA, 94103 United States (map)

Join ttgsf for a co-LAB pop-up with Ja’Moon Jones and Colton Wall, current company dancers with ODC/Dance. This immersive workshop brings together floorwork-based technique, dance theater, and collaborative creation.

Participants will explore momentum-driven movement, physical storytelling, and shared creative inquiry—moving between grounded physical practice and expressive, narrative-led approaches. The workshop concludes with a Creative Lab led by Ja’Moon and Colton, offering space to synthesize the day’s investigations through collaborative exploration.

Designed as a focused, dynamic exchange, this co-LAB invites dancers to train, imagine, and create across forms in a single, shared day.

class descriptions

CONTEMPORARY FLOW || Class will be a playground to explore our physicality with momentum, textures and modalities that takes us in and out of the floor. We will begin with a standing guided warmup that will eventually take us to the floor. Using the ground as our primary partner, we will break down mechanics that we will later use as we move across the floor. This floor work class is great for anyone with a sense of movement adventure and a place to practice skills.

DANCE THEATER WORKSHOP || Unlock the power of physical storytelling in this dynamic workshop for movers and movement enthusiasts alike. Blending acting, performance techniques, and composition, the workshop supports participants in channeling their stories through sensation based and narrative-led movement approaches.

about the faculty

Headshot of Colton Wall

Colton Wall, originally from Florida, began his dance training in 2013 at Santa Fe College after years of gymnastics and martial arts. In 2015 he received his BFA in Dance at Florida State University and in 2016 he joined the company of Diavolo: Architecture in Motion and performed L’espace Du Temps. In 2017 he joined the cast of VIVA by MOMIX. He was part of the original cast and dance captain for the creation of ALICE by MOMIX. Colton has toured ALICE internationally from 2018-2022. Colton is thrilled to join ODC and the Bay Area community.

Ja'Moon is a conjurer of movement, channeling ancestral memory through ritual, dance theater, and immersive experiences. Their work invites audiences into the liminal—where history, fabulation, and the present converge. Ja’Moon’s performances have spanned Senegal, NYC, Colorado, and California. They are the inaugural Resident Choreographer at Ballare Carmel. A Juilliard graduate, they have performed in Sleep No More NYC and danced works by Crystal Pite, Bill T. Jones, and Kyle Abraham, among others. Honored with the Max Mara Young Visionary Award, YoungArts Gold Medal, and a residency at École Des Sables, they continue to shape new futures through motion.
